CARE FOR SILK

We recommend dry clean only for all silk fabrics.

Generally, it is recommended that all silks are dry cleaned, however, it is possible to hand wash some qualities at your own discretion. If hand washing, hand wash with care at a temperature around 40 degrees followed by a cool rinse. Normally silk is best washed by hand with a mild detergent designed for delicate fabrics, such as Tenestar, Dreft or Lux. Do not wring the silk, pat out the excess water and towel dry. Never soak, boil, bleach, wring, tumble dry or leave silk crumpled in a towel.

For both dry clean and handwash, finishing is particularly important. Pull the fabric back into shape and iron on the reverse side with a cool iron whilst slightly damp. Keep away from the sun or direct heat.

Badly stained garments should be dry-cleaned. Do not try to remove stains with a stain remover at home; tell the dry-cleaner what caused them. Choose your dry-cleaner carefully, ensuring they can clean silk properly.

When wearing a silk garment never spray perfume or deodorant directly onto the silk fabric.
